Plitvice – Black fairy queens lakes of generosity

• Long time ago in the land where today are Plitvice lakes there was not a lot of water. In some time water totaly dissapeard so during nine years the whole area turned into dry land. One day the Black queen came from Velebit mountain, her fairy land. When she saw this dry land she made whishes of the willagers come true and called the water to come. That is how the Plitvice lakes were made.

• Departure from Zagreb in the morning hours. Welcome with hot herbal tea and grappa. Wisit to Ekodrom, magical ecological organization for better tomorrow. They spread wisdom of nature, helthy food, grow vegetable, collect plants and often sing, dance and play like reall elfs.

• Continuing to Rastoke Slunj, village of watermills, special of green islands surrounded by rivers and waterfalls. Rastoke were made by joining river Slunjčica with mistical river Korana. Nature played with water and made lots of sprinkling waterfalls, and the best are Buk, Hrvoje, and Vilina kosa (Fairy hair). They are in a way first enterance to the Plitvice lakes.

• Lunch in watermill restaurant Pod Rastočkim krovom for some fresh fish trout.

• Conntinuing to Plitvice lakes. The first one is called Proščansko, cause of beging (hrv. prositi) of the willagers to the Black queen for help. To honer her, greatfull people made a castle on the mountain Kozjak. She told them that they should take great care about the lakes, there will come time of lots of blood here but after that it will come the time of blessing and happines.

• Returning to Zagreb with storys about  gods ofslavic mitology : Svarun, Perun, Svanimir, Tat.
